Questions about your results
If you want to talk to someone about your results, fill out our test results request form and someone will be in touch.
Our Patient Services team will only be able to advise you of the outcome of your investigation in basic terms based on what the doctor or nurse has commented at the time of reviewing the result. This will generally be with terms such as ‘normal’ or ‘abnormal’, as well as notes if any further action is required, for example a follow up appointment. If you wish to discuss the results in greater detail then please book a telephone consultation with the doctor or nurse that arranged your investigation.
Blood and urine results are usually available within 2 working days of having had the sample taken, although some types of investigations take longer. X-rays and scans can take 10-14 days since they have to be reviewed by a specialist x-ray doctor who provides us with a report. For test results that the hospital have asked you to have done, please contact your consultants secretary.
We are only able to give the results of investigations to you, unless you have previously given your written consent to enable us to share details with another person.
