We are pleased to inform you that we will be part of the “Wave Four” Practices in the country to provide the first COVID-19 vaccination programme. Moulton Surgery is working with other Practices in the local area to deliver vaccinations to all residents; this is a part of the Primary Care Network (MWEB) collaborative working.
Please see below some very important information for you to read:
When the Surgery has received a supply of the vaccinations, we will be contacting patients to invite them to be vaccinated in accordance with Government guidance.
We are unable to deviate from this guidance.
Moulton Surgery Patient Service Advisors/Receptionists are NOT able to answer any COVID-19 vaccine enquiries.
Please do not call the Surgery with a covid vaccination query, please visit www.nhs.uk/covidvaccination for further information.
It is imperative that the phone lines are available for sick patients and medical emergencies. We therefore ask patients to not telephone the Surgery as call volumes are extremely high resulting in delays answering the telephone and patients unable to book appointments.
Who can have the COVID-19 Vaccine?
We have been advised that we must vaccinate the elderly and patients at risk as a priority. Thereafter patients will be invited in order as follows:
- 80 years and over and frontline health and social care workers
- 75 years and over
- 70 years and over plus clinically extremely vulnerable patients
- 65 years and over
- 16 to 64 years old with serious underlying health conditions
- 60 years old and over
- 55 years old and over
- 50 years old and over
How you book your appointment
The Practice will be contacting the patients to invite them to be vaccinated. This will be via text message or a phone call.
If you receive a text message, please click on the link and book the appointment needed. You will also receive a text reminder before the booked appointment. For those who receive a phone call, a member of Surgery with book the relevant appointment for you. Please ensure you write down the details of the appointment and keep it in a safe place.
Should you not wish to have the vaccine, please contact the Surgery immediately so we may note this is your medical record.
I would like to reassure all of our patients that over the coming months, everyone will be contacted. Please do not contact the Surgery asking for an appointment.
Attending your appointment
Patients will need to attend Moulton Community Centre for their appointments.

Please take the time to familiarise yourself with the location.
There are car parking facilities at Moulton Community Centre and marshals will be on hand to direct you to the clinic. We ask all patients to arrive no more than 5 minutes before their appointment time ensuring a face mask is worn to protect our staff and other patients.
Please DO NOT attend your appointment if you have any COVID symptoms. Contact Moulton Surgery and reschedule your appointment. Your temperature will be taken when you arrive for your vaccination appointment and if this is above the required range, you will not be able to attend your appointment. Should this happen you will have to contact Moulton Surgery to reschedule the appointment.
We ask all patients to attend their appointments. It is imperative that we do not waste these vaccinations due to no shows. If you do not turn up for your appointment, we are unable to guarantee when we will be able to accommodate another appointment for you.
During the appointment
It may well be that clinicians are running slightly behind and we apologise in advance if this is the case. Everyone will be working hard to keep appointment times.
We have very short appointment times and ask patients to wear clothing that is appropriate to quickly remove enabling easy access to your arm.
You will be asked to give your consent to have the vaccination and check if you have any allergies. Your vaccination will then be administered.
